Allen E. Nelson (July 23, 1950 ~ November 4, 2012) Allen Eugene Nelson was born in Dawson, Minnesota, on July 23, 1950, to parents Anton and Esther (Brovold) Nelson. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd. He attended school in Boyd. Allen worked at AMPI and the Cheese Plant in Clarkfield. He also worked at the Lac qui Parle County Garage in Boyd and at Jackpot Casino. Allen passed away at his apartment in Granite Falls, Minnesota, on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 12 days. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole from Wassau, Wisconsin, and two grandchildren, Savanna and Noah. He is also survived by two sisters: Diana Moen of Hazel Run, Minnesota, and Donna Nelson of Boyd, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Esther Nelson, and brother-in-law, Jerry Moen. Allen loved talking on the telephone to friends and family, especially his daughter and grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed dearly. Blessed be his memory.
