IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Allan Wesley
Isaacs
June 30, 1955 – May 7, 2016
Allan Wesley Isaacs June 30th, 1955 ~ May 7th, 2015 Allan Isaacs was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was also a fighter. Battling against more health problems than any man should have to consider in one shortened lifetime. His spirit carried him well past the years where many would have abandoned hope. This spirit, driven by the love for his family, was the focal point of his strength. On the evening of Thursday, May 7th this man's fighting spirit was called to heaven. Allan Wesley Isaacs was born on June 30th, 1955, in Clarkfield, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm in Lisbon Township. He was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church. Allan attended school in Clarkfield where he met and maintained many lifelong friendships. He also enjoyed curling while in high school. Graduating in the class of 1973, his next adventure took him to Alexandria Technical College. While obtaining his degree, more friends came into his life that have been profoundly important to him over the years. After college he started farming in 1976. During an evening of dancing at the old M & M Ballroom he met Kathy Arends. On April 29th, 1978, they were united in marriage. To this union came daughter Laura and son Adam. Allan had a passion for the outdoors, numerous camping trips with great friends over the years provided wonderful memories. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, in which all who know him can probably remember some stories and each time the fish gets bigger or the shot gets farther every time, which in his way was a measure of humility and humor. Always quick with a joke and content to make people laugh even in the grips of personal discomfort, Allan had a great sense of humor that was wonderful when not crippled by pain, pain which he rarely shared with others, just battled against daily. He was a spectacular cook in the kitchen or the grill, winning chili cook-offs and grilling competitions. He thoroughly enjoyed preparing new recipes for family and friends. When Allan was unable to work due to illness, he became a pillar of the coffee table in Clarkfield and very much enjoyed talking with the boys on most mornings. He was a talented woodworker, crafting many beautiful pieces for family and friends as well. His grandchildren meant the world to him. If more than a few days went by without his grandchildren, there were phone calls made enticing them out to the farm. Truly his grandchildren provided him a spark, again driven by love and pride, to keep battling against the odds. Allan was on the Board of Directors for Consumers Co-op Oil Company for the last 24 years and Western Co-op Transport Association for 20 years. Allan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathy Isaacs; Daughter, Laura Vescio and son-in-law, Dominic Vescio of Blaine, Minnesota; Son, Adam Isaacs and daughter-in-law, Krista Isaacs of Clarkfield, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Allison and Aceson Isaacs of Clarkfield and Gionni Vescio of Blaine; mother, Rudell Isaacs of rural Clarkfield; and sisters: Annette (John) Thompson of New London, and Debbie (Darell) Landmark of Montevideo and their families He was preceded in death by his father, Alton, in 2008. Allan was delivered to the heavens after a 20 year battle with complications from diabetes. He will be loved and his memory cherished forever. Celebrating the life of Allan W.
