Allan McKee Erie was born February 16, 1923, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Martin O. and Agnes (Holm) Erie. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. He attended school in Clarkfield and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1941. He served four years in the Army until the end of the war. After his discharge he attended the University of Minnesota. Allan was instrumental in organizing the Boy Scouts in Clarkfield and spent many summers canoeing with them in the boundary waters and numerous camp-outs. Most of his life was spent in the Clarkfield area with about five years in South Dakota and Colorado working in Power Line Construction. He worked throughout Minnesota with the State Weights and Measures Department since 1958. Allan passed away June 21, 1980, and leaves to mourn his mother, Agnes, brothers, Irwin of California, Charles of Boyd, Minnesota; sisters, Lois Mahony of England, Gail Kieffer of Boulder, Colorado. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin; brother Derrald and sister Jeanine. Blessed be his memory! IN MEMORY OF ALLAN M.
