Alida Marie (Lee) Forbord was born September 2, 1920, to Iver and Jennie (Johnson) Lee in Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1938, graduated in 1939 from a Post Graduate Class in Clarkfield, and graduated as a medical secretary and technician from the College of Medical Technology in Minneapolis. She worked at the ASC Office in Clarkfield and Walgreen Drug in Minneapolis as a bookkeeper and auditor. She was united in marriage to Arthur Forbord on February 11, 1945. They lived on the East Coast and Oceanside, California while he was in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his discharge, they lived in Hazel Run, Granite Falls, and Clarkfield. She worked at the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Clarkfield from 1954 until her retirement in December 1997.

Alida and Art were active with the Boy Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts. She was a faithful member of Clarkfield Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, helped with Luther League, and was treasurer of the Women's Circle. She was a member of the Hazel Run Auxiliary, Homemakers, Couples Club, Hospital Auxiliary, Bunco Club. She loved to cook, bake, travel, camp, read, and play cards.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Norman) Meyer; son, Gary (Cheri) Forbord; four grandchildren: Kristen (Brent) Nolby, Matthew (Amy) Meyer, Monica (Brent) McVay, Shawna Forbord; eight great-grandchildren: Ryan (Kate) Nolby, Kate and Megan Nolby; Maddie, Ava, and Ashley Meyer, and Thomas and Teagan McVay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Art, in 1974; five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, at 10 AM at Clarkfield Lutheran Church, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Clarkfield Lutheran Church.
