Alice Mathilda Burke was born to Jens and Marie (Hanson) Peterson on March 22, 1893, in Chippewa County, Minnesota. She lived in Rosewood Township and in Montevideo until her marriage to Carl Burke in 1920 at which time she moved to Clarkfield where she resided until her death. Mrs. Burke was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith as a child and has been a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Clarkfield since her marriage. She passed away December 15, 1958, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital at the age of 65 years. She is survived by her husband; one son, James of Long Beach, California; two daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Robert Pecka) of New Providence, New Jersey, and Elois Jeanne (Mrs. Marvin Anderson) of Richfield, Minnesota; and eight grandchildren. A daughter, Joanne, preceded her in death, as did four brothers, namely Walter, Julian, Carl and Henry Peterson. She is also survived by two brothers, John and Albert Peterson of Montevideo, Minnesota. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
