Alice Sylvia was born on September 5, 1902, to John and Betsey Severson Johnson at their farm home near Minneota. She was baptized on October 12, 1902 at the Norwegian Lutheran Church, (now Hope Lutheran Church), by Pastor Kleven and confirmed in the same church by Pastor Hinderlie on August 5, 1917. She attended school in District 80 in Westerheim Township through the 8th grade. Alice helped with the work at home until her marriage to Harold Pearson.They farmed in Swede Prairie Township until they retired and moved to Clarkfield. Alice worked at the Clarkfied Care Center for many years and later, the Clarkfield Public School for some years. She liked to be busy. Alice is survived by her four children: Arden of Ottertail, Minnesota, Gail of Willmar, Minnesota, Merle of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Joyce (Lewellyn) Vold of Clarkfield, Minnesota; also seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five God-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, her sister, Gladys, and brother, Alden. Blessed be her memory.
