Alice Mary (Engum) Norland was born to Anton and Emma (Larson) Engum on October 27, 1915 at Cottonwood, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Silo Lutheran Church in Cottonwood and graduated from Cottonwood High School. Alice married Omar H.M. Norland on July 29, 1939 at Silo Lutheran Church. This marriage was blessed with two children: Charles and Linda. Alice worked at the North Star Insurance Company from 1949-1979. Alice became a resident of the Balaton Nursing Home in November of 1994 and in August of 1997 she was transferred to the Clara City Community Nursing Home where she passed away on Sunday, January 3, 1999 at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 8 days.
