Obituary

Funeral services were held for Alice Miller at the St. Lucas Lutheran Church on January 26, 1974, with Pastor Dean Fodness officiating. She passed away at the Granite Falls Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, January 23, 1974, at the age of 74 years. Alice Melvina Miller, daughter of Hans and Marie (Reishus) Miller was born in Swede Prairie Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on September 13, 1899. She was baptized and confirmed by Pastor Romstad in St. Lucas Church where she has been a devoted member all her life. She attended school in Swede Prairie Township and had lived on a farm until 1964 when she and her sister moved to Cottonwood, Minnesota. Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters: Anna, who died in infancy, and Hilda (Mrs. John Nelson); also two brothers, Truman and Lestoff. Surviving her are two sisters, Delia and Celia (Mrs. Conrad Mauland), four nieces and two nephews. Vocal music at the service was by Henry Broughton and Mrs. Kenneth Pehrson with Mrs. Larry Stensrud as organist. Casket Bearers were Norman Anderson, Fred Benson, Howard Hawkinson, Gene Miller, Howard Miller, and Bruce Weinhold. Final Resting Place is St. Lucas Lutheran Church, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home Since 1891 Clarkfield, Minnesota
