Obituary

Alice Fae (Hanson) Snyder was born June 26, 1944, at Canby, Minnesota, to parents Melvin and Deloris (Sillman) Hanson. She was rebaptized and reconfirmed at St. Peters Catholic Church in Canby, Minnesota. She attended school in Canby. Alice and Denis Snyder were married at St. Peters Catholic Church in Canby on December 30, 1961. They were the parents of two sons: Brad and Kevin. Alice was employed at the Clarkfield Care Center from 1970 until her retirement in 2007. She worked in many departments including Human Resources, Activities, kitchen and laundry. Alice was chosen by the Minnesota Community Education Association as the 2002 Minnesota Outstanding Advisory Council Member. Alice and Denis were honored by the Civic and Commerce Club in 1999 for their work over the years during Clarkfield's Heart of the Prairie Days. Her many activities included Red Hats Society, Clarkfield American Legion auxiliary, Prairie Fire Children's Theater, Clarkfield and YME Advisory Council, Down Christmas Lane, Heart of the Prairie Days, Coffeehouse Night, Volunteer RSVP, Clarkfield Civic and Commerce Club, Community Education Tours and many more activites. Alice and Denis enjoyed traveling in the U.S. For the last several years, they spent time at their resort home in Pahrump, Nevada, where they met many wonderful friends. Alice passed away early Monday morning, April 27, 2009, at Sanford Canby Medical Center, Canby, Minnesota, at the age of 64 years and 10 months. She is survived by her sons: Brad of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Kevin (Vicki Merritt) of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; and grandson, William Robert. She is also survived by her sisters Linda (Dennis) Jants of Farmington, Minnesota, Ruth Ann (Gary) Bradley of Mound, Minnesota, Judy (Pat) Johnson of Canby; and many other close relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denis; her parents; her brother Richard; father and mother-in-law Leonard and Mayme Snyder; brother-in-law Ed DeCramer; and many grandparents.
