Obituary

Alice M. (Saue) Dougherty (October 17, 1941~October 15, 2013) Alice M. Saue Dougherty was born October 17, 1941, at Benson, Minnesota, to parents Oscar and Ida (Lynne) Saue. She was one of six children. She was baptized at Jevnaker Lutheran Church of rural Montevideo and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Montevideo. She attended Country School District 49. She remained in the Benson area with her family until after World War II. Alice moved to California and worked as a Nanny. She relocated to Alaska and then returned to Montevideo where she worked as a cook for Trailways Café for over 18 years. She then moved to Willmar and worked in the kitchen of Rice Memorial Hospital for many years. Upon her retirement she moved to Boyd and remained there until her passing. Alice enjoyed listening to country western music, especially Alan Jackson. She was an excellent dancer. She enjoyed playing cards (Rook) and doing ceramics. Her favorite past time was her family and enjoyed it when family and friends would come to visit. She passed away on Tuesday evening, October 15, 2013, at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 71 years--two days shy of her 72nd birthday. She is survived by her sister, Cora Gilbertson and brother, George (Phyllis) Saue all of Montevideo; sisters-in law: Lavilla Saue of Dawson and Shirley Saue of Clarkfield; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Orville, Percy and Leslie; nephews: Bradley Saue and Gary Gilbertson; and brother-in-law, Julein Gilbertson. In Loving Memory of Alice M.
