Alice Sophie Anderson was the oldest daughter of Albert and Nellie (Rudell) Anderson. She was born October 27, 1903, at Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was baptized by Rev. C.E. Shaleen and confirmed by Rev. E.O. Valberg at the Fridhem Lutheran Church in Tyro Township. There she was a member until she joined her present church. On September 15, 1920, she was united in marriage to Heimer Johnson by Rev. B.F. Bengston. The couple farmed in the immediate area until they moved to their present home in Clarkfield in 1953. She was active in church and community activities and served her family well. She entered eternal rest on January 22, 1966, at the age of 62 years. She will be greatly missed by her husband; her children: Curtis, James, Alvern and Norma (Mrs. Erling Anderson) all of this community; six grandchildren; her step-mother, Mrs. Jennie Anderson; two brothers, Arthur and Harry Anderson; four sisters: Dora (Mrs. Clifford Dotseth), Myrtle (Mrs. Helmer Appelwick), Albertha (Mrs. F.J. Johnson), all of this community, and Anna (Mrs. Elmer Anderson) of Hanley Falls; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vernetta; two infant grandsons; her parents; two sisters: Helen and Alpha.
