IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alfred H.
Raddohl
October 14, 1895 – December 4, 1972
Alfred Raddohl was born October 14, 1895, at Elmore, Minnesota, to parents Henry and Olga (Weise) Raddohl. He moved with his parents to a farm east of Baxter Church. The family then traveled to Cheyenne Wells, Colorado , where he spent about six years. As churches and schools were 50 miles away he only went through the third grade and he was not confirmed until 1952 at Hazel Run Lutheran Church by Pastor A.H. Olson. The family moved from Colorado, to a farm northeast of Montevideo, Minnesota, where Alfred met his wife, Olga Swenson. The two were united in marriage at Rock Lake, North Dakota, on January 8, 1916. They lived in North Dakota for one year, and then returned to Montevideo where they lived for three years. They then moved to his present home at Hazel Run, where he has lived for 52 years. He retired from farming in 1960, but due to the untimely death of his only son, Gordon, in 1962, he returned to an active life of farming his son's land, which he has continued to do until his sudden death. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga, two and one-half years ago; one son, Gordon; his parents, Minnie and Henry; and four brothers: Charlie, Henry, Willie and Leonard. He leaves to mourn his passing one daughter and her husband, Berdella and Vernon Rupp; his daughter-in-law, Olive Raddohl; three sisters: Mrs. Emma Jones of Benson, Minnesota, Annie (Mrs. Christ Swenson) of Sebeka, Minnesota, and Lizzy (Mrs. Jay Simon) of Grantsburg, Wisconsin; one brother, Ed Raddohl of Battle Lake, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving father and grandfather to all who knew him. He loved his family dearly, especially his little ones which he showed in so many ways. But since the death of his beloved wife, he was very lonely and as much as he loved his family, he expressed and witnessed many times that he loved his Lord more and was ready anytime God wished to call him home.
