Alfred Herbert Peterson was born February 14, 1900, in Providence Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, one of nine children of John August and Hannah Sophia (Hjelm) Peterson. He passed away Tuesday evening, August 3, 1971, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 71 years, after a few days hospitalization. He is survived by his brother, Carl, of Granite Falls, Minnesota; his sister, Lillie of Boyd, Minnesota; and 13 nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his sisters: Rose, Anna (Mrs. Carl Larson), Alida, Marie (Mrs. John Solting); and his brothers: Gustaf and Joseph; and his parents. He lived in Lac qui Parle County and was engaged in farming all his life.
