Obituary

Alfred Clarence Peterson, the son of Peter and Emma (Swenson) Peterson, was born in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on January 9, 1904. He was baptized at the Swede Home Lutheran Church in his home township by Rev. C.E. Shaleen on May 29, 1904, and confirmed before the same congregation by Rev. Emil Valberg in 1920. On February 8, 1934, he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Brovold of Clarkfield at Clear Lake, South Dakota. To this union one son, James, was born. Alfred and and wife farmed southwest of Clarkfield on the family farm for several years before moving to their present location in Normania Township. Alfred had been in good health until the past few years when he suffered a heart condition and passed from this life on December 5, 1964, at the Montevideo Hospital at the age of 60 years. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Jennie, and son, James of Clarkfield; five brothers and seven sisters: Axel of Minneota, Ludvig of Clarkfield, Oscar of Delano, Minnesota, Fredolph of Denver, Colorado, Winfred of Clarkfield, Bettie (Mrs. Knute Thompson) of Cottonwood, Esther (Mrs. John Lynner) and Anna (Mrs. Roy Hanson) of Clarkfield, Edith (Mrs. Willard Olevson) of Bremerton, Washington, Emma (Mrs. Oluf Thompson) of Cottonwood, Hulda (Mrs. Helmer Halverson) of Clarkfield, and Ethel (Mrs. James Corbett) of Bellflower, California; besides a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. His parents and one sister, Mollie, preceded him in death. IN MEMORY OF ALFRED C.
