Alfred George Christianson, son of Christian and Louise Hanson was born June 28, 1887, at Trondheim, Norway. At the age of twenty, he came to America with his parents and other members of his family. The first two years were spent at Sloan, Iowa, doing farm work. Then he came to Minnesota and lived near Cottonwood, Minnesota, for two years. He was united in marriage to Thea Anderson on June 10, 1911. To this union four children were born: Thelma (Mrs. Harry Stokke) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Clarence of Cottonwood, Minnesota, and a son and daughter who passed away in infancy. He farmed in Normania Township for a number of years. In 1943, he retired and moved to Clarkfield. The last year and a half, he lived with his children. He passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital on June 1, 1965, at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his daughter and his son, son-in-law and daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Peter Lorntson of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, and Mrs. Laura Casperson of Austafjord, Norway, and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and two children, he was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.
