Alford Paul Anderson, 68, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died Thursday morning, January 5, 1989. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 1989, at Augustana Lutheran Church of Clarkfield, with Rev. Joyce Piper Knorr officiating. Organist was Kathy Jahn, pianist was Pastor L. Hunter Fennell and soloist was Ross Riecke. Honorary Casket Bearers were Ordell Akre, Jake Jans, Howard Jurgenson, Boyd Long, Arden Lynne, Jr., Juell Oakland, Leonard Oakland, Leo Olson, Earl Steinman, Leo Toft and Elmer Walls. Active Casket Bearers were Rev. Jarrol Cole, Robert Cole, Lon Johnson, Virgil Likness, Brian West and Rev. Lyndon West. He was born to Lester and Minnie (Swanson) Anderson of Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on December 1, 1920. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On August 23, 1946, he married Stella Opager. They had three children. He is survived by his wife Stella, sons and one daughter namely Algerone and his wife Linda and children, Brandon and Darcy of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Sharyl and her husband Kenneth Ulrich and children, Darion, Kristopher and Jessica of Clarkfield; Mark and his wife Cindy and son Cameron of Clarkfield; and sisters, Lorraine West of Clarkfield and Artys (Mrs. Joe Cole) of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister Marvelle (Mrs. Manley Olson). Burial was in Clarkfield City Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota.
