Adolph Albert Hartfiel was born September 5, 1899 in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Adolph and Emma (Eckhardt) Hartfiel. He was baptized and confirmed on April 4, 1914, in the Lutheran Church to which he remained a loyal member all of his life. Adolph spent his entire life on the farm and was an ardent sportsman, hunter and fisher. On July 2, 1964, he was united in marriage to Hertha Hillger. Adolph's untimely death occurred on Sunday afternoon, November 12, 1972, when he and his wife were enroute home from a trip to the west coast. They were involved in an accident with their camper pick-up pulling a U-Haul with a school bus from Canby, Minnesota. The accident occurred at Lake Benton, Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, one brother, W.F. Hartfiel, of Clarkfield, Minnesota; five sisters: Clara (Mrs. Carl E. Just) of Pennock, Minnesota, Emma (Mrs. Albert Witzig) of Omaha, Nebraska, Viola Decker of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, Ursula (Mrs. Paul Just) and Adeline (Mrs. Arthur Sommerfeld, both of Boyd, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; four sisters and one brother: Minnie, Elsie, Alma, Cecelia and Leo. IN MEMORY OF ADOLPH A.
