Alden Wayne Hanson was born at Clarkfield, Minnesota, on January 16, 1928, the son of George and Alma (Erickson) Hanson. He was baptized by Rev. J.E.H. Akre on February 14, 1928, and confirmed by the same pastor on May 2, 1943. Alden spent most of his life in this community with the exception of four years he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and some time in Seattle, Washington, where he was employed. Upon his return to Clarkfield, he built and operated the Motel here and for the past years has been employed by Mork's Hardware & Electric. On July 14, 1956, he was united in marriage to Lavina Hasner of Canby, Minnesota, and to this union four children were born. Alden passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 1961, the result of an automobile accident, at the age of 33 years. He is survived by his wife, Lavina; four children: Cindy, Vicky, Danny and Scott; his mother, Mrs. George Hanson; and the following sisters and brothers: Marcelle (Mrs. Allen Okerman) of Minneapolis, Betty (Mrs. Clyde Clark) of Seattle, Washington, Glen of Granite Falls, Minnesota, George of Willmar, Minnesota, and Lois (Mrs. Charles Waller) of Hopkins, Minnesota.
