IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albin William
"Gussie" Anderson
December 28, 1896 – August 4, 1927
Albin William Anderson was born December 28, 1896, at Clarkfield, Minnesota, to August and Mathilda (Erickson) Anderson. He was baptized by Rev. Farseth and confirmed in 1911 by Pastor Larson. He was a lifelong member of Augustana Lutheran Church. On August 4, 1927, he was united in marriage to Ruth Severson. To this union, six children were born: Dale of Torrance, California, Ronald of Pullman, Washington, Beverly (Mrs. Rodney Heemstra) of Sheldon, Iowa, Glenn of Inglewood, California, Charles of Clarkfield, and Carroll (Mrs. Donald Albertson) of Milton, Vermont. Mr. Anderson had a sincere interest in agriculture and gave generously of his time and abilities to the rural community. Upon completion of army service in World War I, he graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture. Returning to his home community, he began farming and became active in many other aspects of rural life. He was a charter member of the Madison Production Credit Association and served both as president and member of the Board of Directors for the past 37 years. During his lifetime, he also served as county chairman and administrator of the government farm program for 21 years. He was active in the Minnesota Farm Bureau and held many offices. He served as secretary of the Farm Bureau Service Company. "Gussie" was secretary-treasurer and president of the Minnesota Poland China Breeders' Association and just in 1969, received a cherished possession, the distinguished service award for fifty years of meritous service to the organization. Mr. Anderson was truly a good and faithful servant to many. His interest in community affairs was evident through his 17 years of service on the local school board. He was the first CHS graduate to serve on the Board of Education. Along with his Production Credit Association activities, he served on the County Draft Board and the County Fair Board of which he was a member at the time of his death. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, two daughters and four sons. He will be sadly missed by thirteen grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Lillian of Minneapolis, Francis (Mrs. Henry Williams) of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Oscar of Lafette, California. Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, Elvilda and another sister and brother, both of whom passed away in infancy. IN MEMORY OF A. W.
