Albert William Willander was born July 1, 1888, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Nels and Kjersti (Eskels) Willander. He was baptized the same year at the Fridhem Lutheran Church and confirmed in 1902 in the same church by Rev. B.F. Bengtson. On June 29, 1925, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Ordina Peterson of Antler, North Dakota, by Rev. Tollefson. They lived on a farm near Antler for a number of years, until moving to the Clarkfield community. For the past fifteen years, they have resided in Minneapolis. To this union, six daughters were born: Natalie (Mrs. Roy Schulz) of Minneapolis, Maxine (Mrs. Melvin Marquardt) of Williston, North Daklota, Valerie (Mrs. John Feilen) of Santee, California, Anita (Mrs. Gene Olson), Vernona (Mrs. James Bjorklund) and Yvonne (Mrs. Guy L. Johnson), all of Minneapolis. Albert passed away on Thursday, August 17, 1967, at Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 79 years. He is survivred by his wife, Myrtle; six daughters; one sister, Jennie (Mrs. Albert Anderson) of Clarkfield; and eighteen grandchildren.
