Albert M. Horgen, 81, eldest son of Ole and Annie (Johnson) Horgen, was born in Faribault County, Minnesota, on October 10, 1893. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and has been a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd. He passed away at the Dawson Hospital, Dawson, Minnesota, on August 15, 1975, following an extended illness. Albert saw military service during World War I in France and Germany. Upon his return to civilian life, he engaged in farming and continued in that occupation in the Boyd-Clarkfield communities until his retirement. In 1919 he was united in marriage to Gina Livgard of Anoka County, Minnesota. To this union were born two sons and three daughters. Albert was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, who died overseas during World War II, and two brothers, Melvin and Joseph. Surviving are his wife, Gina; his son, Milton, of Redlands, California; his daughters: Karen of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Lois (Mrs. Merlin Laabs) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Donna (Mrs. David Legrid) of Anoka, Minnesota; eight grandchildren: Gwen Horgen Halacy, Keith, Cathie, Joel, Brian and Kevin Laabs, David and Paul Legrid; one brother, Clifford of Isanti, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
