Obituary

Albert Hanson was born on March 5, 1886, in Michigan, the son of James and Hannah Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith of the Augustana Synod in Michigan. He completed the eighth grade and worked as a boat builder in Manistee, Michigan. His parents passed away when Albert was about 16 years of age. He owned a farm in South Dakota, which he sold during the depression and then did tiling contracting in South Dakota and Nebraska. He came to Clarkfield about ten years ago and was befriended by Albin Nelson. Here he worked as a farm laborer for many years. About three years ago he suffered a stroke and entered the Clarkfield Nursing Home. His condition grew poorer and he lost his speech. On Saturday, February 3, 1962, he was taken to the Clarkfield Community Hospital where he passed away early on the morning of February 6, 1962, at the age of 75 years. Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister at Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is survived by a number of cousins in the vicinity of Racine, Wisconsin.
