Obituary

Albert Cole was born June 30, 1884, in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Lars L. Cole and Johanna M. Christensdatter (Dahl) Cole. He was baptized July 27, 1884, by Rev. Knute Thorstenson and was confirmed June 19, 1898, by Rev. Strand in Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church where he was a lifelong member. On October 20, 1910, he was united in marriage to Johanna Loe by Rev. Haugen at the Cottonwood Silo Lutheran Church and nine children were born to this union. One of seven children, Albert Cole was born and raised on his father's homestead and spent his entire life on his father's farm, passing away March 19, 1959, at the Granite Falls Memorial Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota, at the age of 74 years. He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance in the morning and passed away in the afternoon of the same day. Although not in the best of health, Mr. Cole's passing came as a surprise to his family, many relatives and friends. During Mr. Cole's life he held many various offices of trust. He was a member of the Board of Education of School District 10 for many years and was instrumental in introducing parochial school into the public school system. He also served as the assessor of Sandnes Township for the past ten years. He is survived by his wife, Johanna Cole, five sons and four daughters, namely, Jeverna at home, LeVern of Seattle, Washington, Arvid of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Ardell (Mrs. Galen Redetzke) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Donald of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Kathleen (Mrs. Marvin Stokesbary) of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, Virgil of Hanley Falls, Curtis of Granite Falls, and Edith Maye (Mrs. Edgar Timm) of Bend, Oregon, and 23 grandchildren. His parents, four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. IN MEMORY OF ALBERT L.
