Albert Anderson was born in Sweden on July 29, 1875. His parents were Carl J. and Anna (Johnson) Anderson. He was baptized in Sweden and confirmed at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Tyro Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, where he was a member until they joined the First English Lutheran Church at Clarkfield. The Anderson family came to America from Sweden in 1881 and settled on a farm in Tyro Township. Albert grew to manhood on the farm and lived at home and worked for his father. In 1902 his parents moved to Clarkfield and he purchased the farm and lived there until moving to Clarkfield in 1937. Albert Anderson and Nellie Rudell were married on October 16, 1902. There were nine children in the family. Two children, Alpha and Helen and his wife Nellie passed away in 1918. On April 25, 1923, he married Jennie Willander. Mr. Anderson was an active citizen in the community until his retirement. He served many years as board member of the creamery, the oil company, school board in District 29 and as treasurer of Tyro Township besides many offices in his church. For many years he recorded the minutes of the activities of his church and was made an honorary deacon of the congregation. Surviving him are his wife; five daughters: Alice (Mrs. Heimer Johnson), Dora (Mrs. Clifford Dotseth), Myrtle (Mrs. Hilmer Appelwick), Albertha (Mrs. Forest Johnson), Anna (Mrs. Elmer Anderson); two sons, Arthur and Harry; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one brother, John L. Anderson of Ada, Minnesota. He passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital on June 5, 1959, after an extended illness at the age of 83 years, ten months and seven days.
