Alan Earl Larson was born on July 12, 1933 in Boyd, Minnesota to parents Harold and Edna Larson, Sr. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd. Alan graduated from Boyd High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a Military Police Officer in Frankfurt, Germany. Following his discharge, he returned to Minnesota and worked as a construction worker. Alan married Elaine Gruwell on November 14, 1969 at Duluth, MN. Alan passed away at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis on Monday, August 3, 1998 at the age of 65 years, and 23 days. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Larson of Montevideo and his children: Jerry (and Brenda) Gruwell of Davvson and Deb (and Mike) Clausen of Boyd and grandchildren: Matt Gruwell, Nick Gruwell, Gerad, Brandon, Michelle, and Casey Clausen. He is also survived by his sister Dona (and Harold) Reek, sister-in-law Dorothy Larson, father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Anscomb, and sisters-in-law Helen (and Jerry) Holmquist, Nancy (and John) Platzer, Bev (and Jeff) Walstrom, and brother-in-law Ronald Edblad and friend Karen Haugen and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Edna Larson, Sr., brother Harold Larson, Jr., and nieces Bonnie and Gwen Larson and Barbie Jo Holmquist. Blessed be his memory.
