Agnes Merl Swanson was born May 20, 1908, in Swede Prairie Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the first child of August and Annie (Anderson) Swanson. She came to know Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 11 years. Agnes attended the country school through the 8th grade and then attended Minneota High School, Minneota, Minnesota, for one year. Agnes married J. C. Saunders on January 5, 1927, at Cottonwood, Minnesota. To this union seven sons and three daughlers were born. John and Agnes farmed near Cottonwood and Hanley Falls until they retired and moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota. Agnes had been living near Granite Falls until she passed away. Agnes passed away from short term leukemia on Tuesday evening, October 19, 1993, at the age of 85 years. Agnes is survived by her children: Jeanette and Don Enstad of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Allan and Pegg Saunders of Exeter, California, Lowell and Karen Saunders of Romona, California, Herb and Gwen Saunders of Scottsdale, Arizona, Richard Saunders of Phoenix, Arizona, Merlin and Sharon Saunders of Clovis, California, Elaine Hull of Torrance, California, and Connie and Vern Leenerts of Hazel Run, Minnesota. She is also survived by 30 Grandchildren and 21 Great grandchildren and one sister, Elnora Lindstrom of Minneota, Minnesota. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. (Clifford) Saunders; two sons: Robert and Leslie; and one brother, Virgil, who died in infancy. BLESSED BE HER MEMORY.
