Agnes C. Peterson was born January 22, 1895, in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to C.A. and Maren (Peterson) Hellzen. She was baptized in Fridhem Lutheran Church and confirmed in Spring Creek Lutheran Church. She attended country school and then the public school at Clarkfield. She worked several years at Montevideo. On September 4, 1929, she married Oscar Peterson and they farmed his father's farm for some years and later bought it. In 1958 they built a house in Clarkfield where they have lived since. Mrs. Peterson suffered much from arthritis. In later years the pain left, but leaving some effects. She was reluctant to cause extra work for others. Several days before her death she had felt ill but Tuesday noon was taken by ambulance to the local hospital where her doctor diagnosed acute heart failure and chest congestion. She died early Wednesday morning, February 14, 1973, at Clarkfield Memorial Hospital, at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Oscar, and three sisters: Ovidia Larson, Helen Rodseth and Hannah Hellzen. She will be sorely missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Wilhelm and Herbert. Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
