Agnes Marie Borgendale was born July 22, 1933, in Friendship township to Olaus and Ida (Berg) Nyland. She was baptized in Spring Creek Church and confirmed at Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Agnes graduated from Clarkfield High School and was secretary for the Clarkfield Public School for a number of years. She worked at the Boyd Elevator and McCoy Chemical Company in Clarkfield. She married Orville Borgendale July 1, 1954, at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Agnes died December 7, 1991, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 58 years 4 months and 15 days. Agnes enjoyed crafts and making many beautiful quilts. It made her happy when her many friends stopped to visit. Agnes is survived by her sisters: Alice (Eddie) Anderson of Lennox, South Dakota, Amy (Velmin) Larson of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Esther Donner of Montevideo, Minnesota; and one brother Olaf (Eleanor) Nyland of Ottertail, Minnesota; sisters-in-law: Kathleen Iverson of Clarkfield, Minnnesota, and Joyce (Archie) Alchin of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville, on December 10, 1990; and two sons, John at age 3 and Calvin at age 7; and one brother Orville Nyland.
