Agnes Josephine Lund, a resident of Clarkfield for more than 50 years, passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center January 31, 1975. Agnes was born January 3, 1895, in Normania Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Bernt and Severine (Johnson) Jolstad. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church. She attended rural school and the Cottonwood School. She came to Clarkfield as a seamstress. On December 27, 1922, Agnes was united in marriage to Joseph H. Lund. To this union two children were born: Shirley (Mrs. Forrest Bacus, Jr.) of Prescott, Arizona, and Samuel of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Agnes lived in Clarkfield until 1969 when she sold her home and moved to Brookside Manor at Montevideo, Minnesota, where she resided until 1971, when she came to stay at the Clarkfield Care Center. Until her health began to fail she was an active member of Clarkfield Lutheran Church and held a life membership in W.M.F. Besides her children, she is survived by two sisters: Liala (Mrs. Philip Hendrickson) of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Burnette (Mrs. Alfred Formo) of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; one brother, Gordon Jolstad of Normania Township; two grandchildren: Kathy (Mrs. William Berridge) of Prescott, Arizona, and Robert Lund of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; in-laws, nieces and nephews. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, an infant sister, and two brothers.
