Obituary

Adolph Lawrence Anderson was born April 19, 1898, at Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Anton and Belinda Anderson. Adolph was baptized and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church where he remained a member until his death. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War I. He did carpenter work under his uncle, Jack Anderson, and for a while worked in the print shop for the Clarkfield Advocate. For a brief period he was a business partner of Russell Johnson. On December 7, 1922, he married Mabel Johnson who passed away March 12, 1972. A daughter, Avis, died in April 1978. Prior to leaving Clarkfield he was in the grocery business. Since 1973 he has lived in Nortonville, Kansas. Mr. Anderson passed away February 1, 1979, at the Veterans Hospital, Topeka, Kansas. He had been failing in health for several years. Survivors include three sons: Arlyn of Nortonville, Kansas, Sylvan of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and Charles of Washington, D.C.; two daughters: Lois Werpy of Marshall, Minnesota, and Mary O'Trimble of Nortonville, Kansas; two brothers: Orton Anderson of Minneapolis, and Lyland Anderson of Hopkins, Minnesota, three sisters: Jo Anderson and Evelyn Emerson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Gladys Boyden of Hopkins, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
