Kenneth Velde was born on August 11, 1902, in Normania Township of rural Clarkfield to Ole and Sarah Anderson Velde. He died February, 10, 1992, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 89. Kenneth was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church in rural Clarkfield. He was married to Judith Loe from October 18, 1931, until her death in February, 1937. To this union three children were born; John, Betty and David. He was married to Esther Rindal from December 3, 1943 until her death on April 7, 1977. On December 26, 1981 he married Bernetta Teigen and they lived in Montevideo until his death. Kenneth farmed south of Clarkfield with his son, John, until his retirement. Kenneth was very active with the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, served numerous terms on the church council, and was very active in the fundraising and building of the new church. He was also a member of the Montevideo Sons of Norway. Kenneth loved to travel and spent 23 winters at his home in Mesa, Arizona.
