A. Hilman Korstad (September 28, 1917 ~ August 4, 2012) Arthur Hilman Korstad was born September 28, 1917, in Ten Mile Lake Township of Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, to parents Daniel and Selma (Haakenson) Korstad. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church of Boyd in 1917 and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran in 1931. He attended Country School District 55 and Boyd High School. Hilman and Linda K. Benson were united in marriage on December 31, 1941, at Bergen Lutheran Church. They were the parents of four children: Michael, Janell, and two children who passed away in infancy. Hilman farmed his entire life. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran of Boyd serving on the Church Council. He was a past member of the ASC County Committee, a County Commissioner and also served for two years with Farmers Union. He passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 24 days. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Linda, and his children: Michael of rural Boyd and Janell White of Florence, Wisconsin. He is also survived by grandchildren: Carmen (Travis) Jones and Sherry Smith; five great grandchildren; sister, Blanche Benson; sister-in-law, Ruth Laemmle; and brother-in-law, Thoralf Benson. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Sheridan, Earl, Eldor, and Clyde; son-in- law, Gerald White; and two children in infancy. Blessed be his memory. In Loving Memory of A.
