Marlynn Johnson

Marlynn Johnson, of Coon Rapids and formerly of Clarkfield, died Monday, June 3, 2019 at the VA Hospital in St. Cloud at the age of 66.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 2 - 4:00 PM at the Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield.  There will be a prayer service at 3:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Steven Quist officiating and interment at St. Lucas Lutheran Cemetery.

Marlynn Delbert Johnson was born January 4, 1953 at Montevideo, MN the son of Vernon and Gloria (Seimers) Johnson.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church.  Marlynn graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1971.  He served in the MN Army National Guard.  He worked in the construction industry.  He was united in marriage with Fern Nelson March 3, 1990 at St. Lucas Lutheran Church.  They lived in Coon Rapids, MN.  He enjoyed spending time at Lake Minnewaska.

He is survived by his wife, Fern; his children: Brandon Johnson (Josh Hoffman) of Clearwater, MN, Amber Bakken of Sartell MN, Corey (Meagan) Johnson of St Paul, MN; step-sons: Billy (Janet) Heinz of Waite Park, MN and Andy (fiancé’ Pamela Luffman) Heinzof Becker MN; 14 grandchildren: Drake, Foxx, Ava, Carter, Shandi, Cameron, Richard, Cleona, Santana, and Hollister; his mother, Gloria Johnson of Clarkfield; brothers: Loren Johnson, Los Angeles, CA and Richard Johnson, Mankato, MN; sisters: Phyllis Hall-Bazis, Irving, TX and Paulette O’Connell, Clarkfield, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his father, Vernon Johnson; brother,  LaVern Johnson; nephews: Travis Johnson, Mark Olson, and Todd Wold; and niece, Tina Dooley.
