Betty Steinman, of Clarkfield, died Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 99.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. Rev. Steven Quist will officiate and interment will be at the Clarkfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for one hour before the service.
Mary Elizabeth (Tricker) Steinman was born September 24, 1918 in Monterey, MN the daughter of William and Mary "Madge" (Quirk) Tricker. She moved with her family to the Clarkfield area in 1920. Betty graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1936 and then attended Humbolt Business School. On September 2, 1941, Betty married Earl "Bill" Steinman in Maryville, Missouri. They were the parents of three children: William, Richard, and Margaret. They farmed southwest of Clarkfield for many years and moved into town in 1974. Betty worked in the Superintendent's office in Clarkfield and later at the ASCS office. She was an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, William Steinman of Clarkfield; four grandchildren: Luke Connolly, Mark Connolly, Derek Steinman, and Christopher Steinman; three great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Autumn, and Scott; a great-great-grandson, Jude; son-in-law, James Connolly of Anoka, MN; daughter-in-law, Candie Steinman of Ft. Meyers, FL; one sister, Ruth Thompson of Montevideo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bill on June 29, 2010; son, Richard in 2016; daughter, Margaret in 2015; and three sisters: Dorothy, Anita, and Lillian.
