Harriet Anderson passed away peacefully on September 12, 2018 at the Granite Falls Manor at the age of 91.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Clarkfield Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Harriet was born in Marshall, MN, the daughter of Jeanette (Brecke) and Harry Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1944.
She married Irving Anderson on June 18, 1949. They made their home and farmed in Lisbon Township in Yellow Medicine County of MN and were blessed with two sons: Bruce and Brian.
Harriet enjoyed all opportunities to socialize with family and friends. She loved holiday gatherings, cooking, playing cards, and supporting her sons, and grandchildren at school sporting events. She enjoyed summer weekends at Minnewaska lake. After farming for many years in Yellow Medicine county, Harriet and Irving retired to lake Kampeska in Watertown, South Dakota. After several years in Watertown, Harriet and Irving then returned to Clarkfield to be closer to family and friends.
Harriet is survived by her husband, Irving; two sons, Bruce Anderson, and Brian Anderson (Tony Cross); grandchildren: Alecia Malek, Sarah (Darren) Manthey, Jon (Amy) Anderson; and great- grandchildren Darren Malek, Adrian Malek, Blake Manthey, Nathan Manthey, Morgan Manthey, Macy Anderson, Miles Anderson, and Mia Anderson.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter-in-law, Alvina Anderson.
