Geraldine Alvis

Geraldine Alvis, Clarkfield, died on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 84.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Clarkfield Care Center.  Burial will be in the Clarkfield Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 at the Clarkfield Care Center.

Geraldine Alvis was born on September 20, 1934 to Frank and Jessie (Fraser) Fultz in Walhalla, ND.  The family moved to the Montevideo area.  She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1953.  She was a baptized and confirmed member of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints on March 1, 1958 in northern California.  Geraldine was married to Max Alvis on July 10, 1964 in Oregon.  They resided in Loganville, GA.  Together they built the business Alco Ind.  She was a business woman and worked for may years along side her husband.  Gerri moved back to Clarkfield in 2011 to be closer to her family. She lived at Vahalla for three years before moving to the Clarkfield Care Center.  She was very close to her sister Shirley’s children.

Gerri was a very loving and forgiving person.  She was a dedicated servant to her church serving as Release Society President and Primary Nursery for Monroe Ward.  She loved the children and always made or bought snacks and planned fun lessons for them.  She taught them for decades, giving them her love and attention and they gave her much joy.  As years went by these children grew into adulthood and returned to visit her, time and again, introducing their spouses and own babies.

Gerri loved to entertain and always found great pleasure in seeing her dear friends and family come into her home and feel loved. Her finest dishes were set out and culinary talents were shared.  She was always ready to help anyone in need, whether it was a hug and laughter or share a day with the elderly or the sick. Gerri enjoyed music and dancing, dressing up and always having her jewelry on, shopping, and eating out.  Her favorite foods were BBQ ribs, pizza and root beer.

Gerri is survived by nieces: Karen Thompson, Gwen (Dennis) Kvistad, Nadine (Bruce) Albertson, Candy (Gordy) Albertson , Angie (Wayne) Viessman; nephews Greg McCoy, Jason (Rhonda) McCoy; step-daughter: Debbie; sisters-in-law, Helen Fultz and Darlene Fultz; as well as numerous additional nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Gerald, Francis (Bud), Gary and Mac Fultz; sisters: Shirley McCoy Saue,  Billie Bunch, Fern Hell, Josephine Spilde and step-son Max Jr..Alvis.
