Donald Leroy Lowe was born on April 2, 1939, to Leon and Ruth (Jackels) Lowe in Westbrook, MN. He lived with his parents until he was 9 years old and then lived with his grandparents, Samuel and Volitta (Echert) Lowe for a year. Then at the age of 10, he went to live with his foster parents, Marvin and Martha Anderson on a farm in Cottonwood, MN. He attended and graduated from school in Cottonwood and was confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Normania Township, MN. He proudly served his country, in the National Guard for 8 years. Donald continued to live on the farm for 61 years until he became unable to care for himself. He then lived at Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Cottonwood and then the past few months in the nursing home in Minneota. Donny loved the farm life. It gave him great joy and contentment to raise pigs, plant corn and beans. He also had a great passion to fish and hunt with much success.

Donny was a very unique, gentle soul, who had many people who were very true friends. These people are Dennis and Linda Broughton, Byron and Janeen Kompelien and Teresa Hoff. Without these people in his life, Donny would not have had the dignity and honor he deserved, when life handed him a negative action. These people, along with his sister Carol, worked very hard to clear his name, so he could live his life, quietly. He truly was a fortunate man who was simple and kind.

He is survived by his brothers: Gene (Eva) Lowe of San Carlos, CA, Frank (Barb) Janzen of Littleton, CO, Dean Janzen of Hisston, KS, Bill (Judy) Eitzen of Bolder, CO, Allen Eitzen of Morrison, CO; sisters: LaDella (Burt) Anderson of Mankato, MN and Mary Beth Overton of Olivia, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; foster parents; brother, Dennis Lowe; sisters: Janice Kirby, Carol Wolk and infant sister, Goldie Lowe; and a foster brother, Dayle Olson.
