Curtis Torgerson

Curtis Torgerson, of Clarkfield died on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Brookside Manor in Montevideo at the age of 80.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM at New Life Church in Clarkfield.  

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM at Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.

Curtis Milford Torgerson was born in Currie, Minnesota on March 20, 1939 to Walter C. and Helen C. (Hanson) Torgerson.  He grew up in the Clarkfield area and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1959.  He was united in marriage to Dorothy Pedersen on July 19, 1969. They had two children together: Mark (1970) and Michelle (1974). The couple first lived on a farm near Boyd and then later moved to the family homestead in Clarkfield. Curtis lived in the house until April 2019 when he moved to Brookside Manor in Montevideo. Curtis had a lifetime career at AMPI in Clarkfield and Dawson as a Chief Engineer.

Curtis was a member of Community Bible Church in Montevideo and then New Life Church in Clarkfield, and volunteered running the sound board for services. In his early years Curtis was an amateur photographer and even had a small wedding photography business.  He also spent time woodworking; making cabinets, tables and toys.  He volunteered as a Scout leader. Dorothy and Curtis enjoyed visiting area quilt shops together. He was known to take the family on extended camping vacations to many US destinations and it would always be an adventure. 

Curtis is survived by his children: Mark (Mary) of Arvada, CO, Michelle (William) Halley of Parker CO; grandchildren: Michael Halley, Gabriel Halley, Joy Torgerson; and sister: Joan Stevens of Westminster, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Helen; and his wife: Dorothy.
